154 Spotisfaction Monday 14/03/11 – Jo Hawling

Morning kids. I trust everyone had a fantabulous weekend? Mine was pretty good – I did very little except for shopping, watching rugby and chilling out. Awesome.

Today’s playlist is by one of my two joint-favourite Hawlings, Jo, and is quite the eclectic mix of strong tracks. This playlist has completely evaporated my Monday morning blues – very impressive stuff indeed.

Remember remember that your playlists are the life-blood of this place. If today’s playlist has inspired you to create your own (as well it bloody well should!), chuck it our way. Laters!

Also, if you like what Spotisfaction is all about, please get in touch and we’ll have a chat about how you can help. HAVE A GREAT MONDAY AND STUFF, YEAH?

92 Spotisfaction Friday 30/07/10 – Jo Hawling

Don’t do it, kids. Seriously. Just stay at home. I’m feeling like 17 tonnes of horrible today. It’s been a very busy week, very stressful. Speaking of stress, Stressechos (the band that Ben drums in when he’s not giving out free candy to children) cut an 4 track EP yesterday. I had a sneak listen to it and I have to say, I’m blown away. Further proof that there is more to the Cheltenham music scene than new-folk (not knocking new-folk, here. Just sayin’, is all). Is it “new-folk” or “nu-folk”? Gah, that conjures up horrible images of Fred Durst with a resonator…

Anyway, without further delay, here is today’s playlist. Bought to you by my very own Joform Hawling, entitled “Indie Disco”. Have a listen.

Spotisfaction Tuesday 30/03/10 – Guest Mix by Jo Hawling

This morning could have gone so far south that it would have been wearing one of those hats with corks on. You see, through a series of events I managed to lock myself out of my own house this morning. I didn’t have a key to get in, and I needed a shower and a change of clothes before I headed to work. I was already late for work. Luckily, I was saved by Jo, who ran to my rescue and saved my day. As such, I’m running her playlist today. Oh, also, Magical Kev gets props like agro for being the wheelman this morning. That’s how you drive, from now on – THATS HOW YOU DRIVE. If you need a getaway driver, I recommend Kev.

David told me that we had a submission last night that really compliments yesterdays fantastic mix. Rather than running them back to back, we have decided to mix it up a little. Keep your eyes peeled for it, though.

Okay, I’m in need of some coffee. So I’m off to sort that out. In the meantime, here is the fantastical Jo and her fantastical Spotisfaction. Peas.

“Out of some desire to do something other than sit around and rot, the men known as David Prowse and Thom Lavelle decided to sit around and rot whilst swapping Spotify playlists and blogging about them…”

Well hello there. It’s Tuesday. By now you should all know how I feel about Tuesdays. But today is different. Today we have the quite amazing Jo Hawling to save us from what is quite possibly the worst day of the week, generally speaking. I’ll hand over to her… now.

Jo says:
Thought you could use a lick of retro so here’s a free pass to a very good summer that I spent in headphones, blissfully ignorant of the outside that is. Designed to drag you from apathy to bliss via angst, what? and random.
