Yeah, hello. It”™s Wednesday. I”™m feeling rather apathetic in general today so you”™ll excuse me for not performing virtual fellatio on each and every one of you ingrates in this mornings news post. Ha, Dave just called me an arsehole. What a prick. Anyway, enough of the banter and on with what is important in life – music. We”™ve had a few more excellent submissions that I”™m pretty hyped about running. Just to let everyone know, we”™ve abandoned running playlists in the order that they are submitted. The reasoning behind this should be easy enough to understand. We”™re trying to keep the playlists varied, so we are going to try not to run similar playlists back to back. Don”™t worry, however. ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE PUBLISHED. I swear on my Fender Jaguar, my Harajuku sunglasses and my hearing. Oh and er, keep up the submissions. Your submissions sustain me.

Right, today we have the fine young man with the handle of Rich Young stepping up to provide something to help us get one step closer to the weekend. So a big thanks to Rich for providing the soundtrack to Wednesday! Go Rich!

Virtual hugs
Thom

This playlist is simply a compilation of tracks that I love. Track by track:

I Wanna Be Adored – One of the best album openers of all time from one of the best albums of all time. What better track to sit at the top of my first playlist.

Alone, together – I love The Strokes first album and this is a great track. I love the way the song builds. The last 30 seconds are particularly cool.

Mirror Kissers – This track reminds me of the first time I saw The Cribs live. They are a great band, full of energy and full of tunes.

As above, so below – I”™m not a massive fan of Klaxons but I love this tune from Myths of the Near Future.

This Momentary – I like Delphic. I”™ve been listening to their album a lot in the car. This track is one of the highlights.

True Faith – I love the lyrics to this tune. I also love the tune. Beautiful.

Situation – One of my favourite electronic tracks of all time.

Empire Ants – Highlight off the new Gorillaz album. Beautiful track from what is in my opinion album of the year so far.

Can You Give It – I like the video to this track as it focuses around the cheese rolling event in Gloucester. It”™s also a decent tune.

Evening/Morning – I love the guitar on this tune. Another band I have been listening to a lot on my commute recently.

Secret Door – Superb track from Arctic Monkeys best album to date.

The Boy With The Thorn In His Side – A beautiful classic, plain and simple.

Last Broadcast – This track reminds me of the time I met my wife. It was a good summer!

Heart of Gold – Classic! Love the harmonica.

All Apologies – I love this track, particularly this version taken from their MTV Unplugged set.

Picture Book – Takes me back to my childhood.

Cousins – This track is quite hectic but I love it. The video is great too!

Muzzle #1 – The Whip are a great band. Seen them live a few times now. They were particularly awesome on a wet Friday morning at Glastonbury last year and got the crowd going. Then the sun came out. This is a highlight from X Marks Destination.

A Forest – A beautifully haunting track.

Monkey Man – I love the guitar playing onthis track.Tin Soldier – Classic! I love the drums on this.

Pretty Little Ditty – Reminds me of hot summer days when I was supposed to be revising for my GCSE”™s. Lovely guitar tone.Long Time Coming – One word, Summer!!

Nature Springs – I adore The Good, The Bad and The Queen album and to be honest could have put any of the tracks from it in this list. One of the albums of the last decade.

Glory Box – This track used to get played a lot on the jukebox in my local during the 90”™s. It reminds me of being pissed and stoned and brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it.

Enjoy!
