JB says:
The GZA”™s Liquid Swords was the only way I could think to start this mix, firstly because I love Hip and Hop and mostly because the intro is the most awesome intro to a song I”™ve heard. It also starts a rather sombre first half of the mix.

I can”™t remember when I first heard RJD2 but loved a fair few of his tracks straight away, The Horror seemed to fit quite well with the somewhat dark intro to the previous song

The Roots are great normally, but I think the addition of Erykah Badu to this track really lifts it to another level.

Next up Massive Attack”™s new one, I haven”™t stopped listening to Paradise Circus since I first heard it before Christmas, absolutely love it, certainly in my top 3 massive attack songs. Also has a very NSFW video at: http://vimeo.com/8195617

Paradise Circus helpfully helps move the mix from hip-hop more into melancholic female vocal tracks, the first I will mention is Paranoid Android by Sia, I was originally going to include Sunday by Sia but stumbled across this whilst looking for the other one, and really enjoyed this unusual take on a certain bands well known track.

Next up a touch of Icelandic female vocals from someone who isn”™t Bjork”¦Emiliana Torrini, who I had been listening to for quite a while, this is taken from one of her early and IMHO best albums.

Skipping forward a bit to Drumming Song, only really got into Jack Beats fairly recently, great big wobbly bass on nearly everything they do, and a turning point in the mix as it speeds up somewhat for a while.

Had to squeeze a bit of High Contrast on here as well, great remix of Adele”™s Hometown Glory far better than the original.

Then The Go! Team, who are quite hard to categorize really, suffice to say much more upbeat for this half of the mix, hard to choose a track of theirs to go one, well worth listening to the album if you”™ve not heard them before!

Uffie was a bit of a joke on my part, used to listen to a few tracks of hers a long time ago, everyone else hated her, and I could see why, but for some reason found it kind of catchy, went to see what she had done since that point, and quite liked this, will probably still annoy quite a few people lol.

Swinging back into hip-hop a few classics from Biggie and Jurassic 5.

Finally rounding up with something that has guitars in, always loved Good News for People Who Love Bad News, so good to include a famous track, and finally ending with the good old Postal Service.
